Our Story

2004 • April

Established in 2004

The original Adept started in April 2004 with Vernon Phillips and Richard Vaughan as the founders and only employees, working tirelessly to grow the business.

2004-2022

Continued Growth

Vernon and Richard continued to grow the business, employing both their sons, Dan and Aaron as well as a number of production staff

2022 • February

What happened

With Vernon stepping back from the business, the original Adept GRP was restructured in to two businesses, Adept GRP Cabinets Ltd and Adept GRP Enclosures Ltd. Dan is the director of Adept GRP Cabinets Ltd, focusing on all aspects of sales as well as supply of the standard range of products.

Aaron and Richard are directors of Adept GRP Enclosures Ltd, focusing on the production and supply of bespoke GRP Enclosures.

2025 • July

Where we are now

With the restructure allowing us to better manage demand for our range of standard and bespoke products, we are now looking at the future by researching ways in which we can innovate in our industry as well as exploring how we can lead the industry in to a cleaner, greener and more efficient era.

Provides quotations, practical production advice and is the main link between production and the customer. Worked his way from working on the shop floor manufacturing the standard range to his current position and shareholder in the business.

Dispatch co-ordinator

Organises dispatch of standard cabinets to the customer when they are ready. Provides updates on existing orders from production.

GRP Cabinets

Our VR range of standard GRP Cabinets, known for their low maintenance and corrosion-resistant properties, has remained a popular choice over the years. Available in sixteen standard sizes, these cabinets, featuring strong panels with secure locks and durable hinges, provide practical, cost-effective protection from the elements.

Bespoke GRP Enclosures

Adept GRP specialises in designing and manufacturing quality custom-made GRP Enclosures (also known as GRP Kiosks) made to order precisely to meet your requirements. You can specify all the details such as the external size, specification of construction, types of locks, furnishings and hinges, as well as ventilation features and number of doors, ideal for housing sensitive electrical equipment or materials.

Steel Kiosks

Our VRS steel kiosks are crafted from 1.5 or 2mm Zintec steel, offering exceptional weather protection in all weather conditions with IP55 certification and ensuring sound earth continuity. These kiosks are not only durable and secure but also designed to have a substantial life expectancy. With eight standard sizes available from stock or on a short lead time, they provide a reliable and weatherproof solution for various storage and quality security needs.
